| The central Pyrenees is a spectacularly beautiful region of dense forest, clear blue lakes, glaciers and imposing peaks rising to 3400m. The lush green valleys hide small towns and picturesque villages.
Our challenging route follows old trading routes along the spine of the highest part of the Pyrenees. We cross two high mountain passes as we head for our goal: the summit of Pico Mulleres (3010m), across the Spanish border. The exposed landscapes of jagged limestone peaks are wild and awe-inspiring. We return to France along a magnificent mountain ridge and have time in the beautiful spa town of Luchon to celebrate our achievement.
