New Entry System
We have designed a new more integrated entry system for the 2010 Edinburgh Marathon. The entry system will work in three steps;
Step 1 – we will capture your personal details that we need for your entry. Please ensure all your contact details are up-to-date.
Step 2 – you will be able to buy your relay and shuttle bus tickets along with our new range of 2010 Marathon and Relay Merchandise.
Step 3 – we will take your payment details.
The 2010 Edinburgh Marathon is accessible to anyone who wants to take part, there are two different ways to enter the full Marathon. You will get lots of support, have a great day out and raise money for HOPE!

Entry Field
We are expecting 16,500 entrants in the 2010 Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon and the Chevrolet Hairy Haggis Team Relay. 12,500 marathon entrants and 4,000 relay entrants.
Weather conditions
May/June are probably the best months to run a marathon in Edinburgh. The wind is soft and the average maximum temperature on Race Day is around 17 degrees.
In the interest of safety
The Race Director and the Emergency Services reserve the right to stop the race at any time, if deemed necessary. These would be in circumstances beyond our control and no refunds would be given.

Hairy Haggis Team Relay
The 26.2miles will be split between 4 runners. The 'Hairy Haggis' Team Relay was introduced to give athletes of all abilities the opportunity to run along the same course of the marathon without having to run the 26.2 miles individually. Teams of four will run splitting the marathon distance between them.
Leg One - 8.1 Miles (The Royal Leg)
Leg Two - 5.4 Miles (The Cock & Pan Leg)
Leg Three - 8.0 Miles (The Gosford Leg)
Leg Four - 4.7 Miles (The Glory Leg)
There are nine ways to enter the Hairy Haggis Team Relay
As you enter you can choose between nine different categories. The winning team in each category will win a prize.

Relay The minimum age for runners is 17 on race day. Runners aged between 15 and 17 are eligible but must run legs which are less than 10km. The age criteria are set to comply with Scottish Athletics and UK Athletics rules for race organisers. These are put in place for the safety of younger runners. |
