England Kilomathon - World's First Kilomathon - Sunday 14th March 2010
The England Kilomathon™ will run from Nottingham to Derby on 14th March 2010
The Kilomathon (pronounced Kil-om-athon) is a 26.2 Kilometre Road Race that has been developed by GSI events, the same company that organise the Edinburgh Marathon, one of the fastest growing marathons in Europe.

Entries
It is expecting that 7,000 entrants will take part in the world's first Kilomathon. Entries open on 1st September 2009. They are on a first come, first served basis until we reach capacity for the event.

Elite Athlete & Top Club Runners:
If you have run a sub 70 min half marathon (male) or a sub 80 min half marathon (female) after 1st Jan 2009 please contact us to hear about benefits we can offer you.
Each runner can expect;
- Race Pack (Individual Running Number, ChampionChip timing device, Final Runner Instructions, baggage label)
- Finishers T-shirt, excellent medal and Race Recovery Pack/Goodybag
- The course is on fully closed public roads managed by police, professional traffic management company and race crew staff.
- Water and Energy stations on route and at finish
- A personal best time (The worlds first Kilomathon)

Water Stations
Water and Energy Drinks will be served on the course.
Toilets
Toilets will be located at the start, finish, each drink station and first aid points.
Chip Timing
Timings for all runners will be recorded using a chip timing system.
Baggage
Runners will be able to store baggage on trucks located at the start. This will be transported to the finish and available for pick up near the finish area.
2010 Kilomathon Route
The Kilomathon starts outside Nottingham University and goes along the A6005 through Beeston, Chilwell and Long Eaton. It then goes through Sawley Draycott, Borrowash and through the picturesque Elvaston Castle Country Park before passing through Alvaston and finishing near Pride Park.

Q. When does the race take place?

Q. When will entries open and close?
A. Entries for the 2010 England Kilomathon will open on 1st September 2009. Standard entries will be on a first come first served basis until we reach our entry limit. Charity entries will be available after standard entries close.
Q. When will I receive my purchased merchandise?
A. Any merchandise you purchased on our shop or as you entered will be delivered from 15th October 2009 onwards, or within two weeks of your purchase after that date. Shuttle Bus tickets will be sent with your race number.
Q. When will I get my race number?
A. All UK runners will be posted their race pack (running number, timing device and final competitor instructions) within two weeks of the event. If you have not received your race pack by Wednesday 3rd March 2010 please contact us to arrange collection of a new pack. Final competitor instructions will also be posted on the website by 1st March 2010.
Q. When will I receive my final details booklet?
A. You will be posted your final race instructions within two weeks of the event. This will be in the same pack as your race number. You will also be able to download the final details from the homepage in early March 2010.
Q. What will I receive when I finish the Kilomathon?
A. All Kilomathon runners will receive a t-shirt, goodybag, finisher’s medal, water, energy drink and a banana.
Q. What is the course time limit?
A. Participants must begin the Kilomathon during the official start and complete the Kilomathon course within 4 hours (15 minute mile pace) i.e. the course will close at 15 minute mile pace. See terms and conditions of entry.
Q. How will the runners be allocated in time pens?
A. Kilomathon runners will be allocated in time pens according to their predicted finishing time. Running numbers will also be allocated by predicted finishing time. |
