Rough Runner is a new breed of sports event.

This challenge merges distance running (there’s a 5km, 10km or 15km run) and obstacles that you’ll have to take on along the way.

But not just the regular, military-style obstacles you’ll see on every other event out there, that do nothing but freeze, burn, lacerate and electrocute you.

Instead, the obstacles are inspired by all those game shows we love – Takeshi’s Castle, Wipeout, Gladiator, Ninja Warrior and more. So you can expect punching walls, giant pigeon battles, sweeper arms, big balls and yes, The Travelator!

Which length should I choose?

Choose whichever distance you're most comfortable with! If you can run that distance in one go (i.e. without stopping), then great, but you don't need to. You can walk as much of the course as you like (it's not timed after all), but also, the distance is split into 500-1000m sections between obstacles, so the running is much more manageable that you might think.
The 5km run has around 10 obstacles which tend to be slightly easier and more fun. The 10km has 5 more obstacles, which get a little tougher, and the 15km route has around 20 obstacles and the extra ones are generally the hardest of the lot!
