Yes, it’s that time again, the start of another year! To kick off 2017, we’ve put together 10 resolutions that you can adopt to get involved and support Hope for Children. So how many are you going to do this year?

1. Be more informed…

One of the most important things a charity can do is to keep their supporters up to date with where their money is going and how it is helping children to experience a happy, healthy and positive childhood. That’s why we are active on all our social media accounts – FacebookTwitter & Instagram. Make sure you are following us on these because we want to keep you in the know about the life-changing work you make possible.

2. Switch a coffee for hope…

The average coffee costs around £2.20 – by ditching just 1 a week you could save yourself more than £10 a month. This year, why not switch just 1 coffee per week for a donation by becoming a monthly giver. Giving £10 a month can provide 2 children with the school uniform they need to attend school and start accessing their right to education. Click here to switch your coffee to hope!

3. Get fit…

This is a big one! 95% of New Year Resolutions include getting fitter, being more active. Have you already signed up to a new gym membership? There’s no better way of making sure you use this than by having a tangible goal to reach. Whether it’s a 10k, half marathon or even the full 26.2 miles, we’ve got places in a huge range of runs throughout the year across the UK & beyond – we’ve even got a few places available for the London Marathon 2017! Check out what we’ve got going on in 2017 by clicking here.

4. Spend more time with your children…

If you’re a parent, you don’t need us to tell you that the first few years of your children’s lives are some of the most memorable, as well as tiring. When you host your next playdate for your children and their friends, why not turn it into The Big Playdate and host it in aid of Hope for Children. Order your specially created activity pack in seconds here

5. Engage & inspire your colleagues…

We are lucky to have the support of many corporate partners who support us in a wide variety of ways, from staff fundraising to cross-marketing.  Make 2017 the year your company becomes a Your Business, Their Lives partner and work with us to create a transformational partnership that engages staff and customers alike. Find out more about Your Business, Their Lives by clicking here.

6. Put on your glad rags…

Each year we host our annual headline fundraising event, The Hope Ball. In November 2016, over 220 guests enjoyed a stunning evening at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in central London, and raised an incredible £32,000. Planning for 2017 has already begun and we are looking for people to join our committee who can help with selling tables, sourcing money-can’t-buy-prizes and anything else you can think of. Sound good? Get in touch with our Fundraising Team now to become part of the committee!

7. Take on a bucket list cycling challenge…

Everyone’s got one – a list of incredible things that you want to do or achieve at some point in your life. Make 2017 the year that you tick off the ‘Epic Cycle’ one by taking part in The Ride of Hope, a brand new 6-day cycling challenge that takes riders from The Shard to the foot of Mont Blanc – very limited places so register your interest here.

8. Ensure a life-changing legacy…

It’s so important to have a will, no matter what age you are. It’s something that you often put off so let 2017 be the year that you take the next step and make sure you have this done. Over the years, we have been incredibly touched by the generosity of the bequests of individuals that have enabled us to continue our life-changing work with vulnerable children. When writing yours, please consider including a specific, pecuniary or residuary gift to Hope for Children to ensure that you leave a legacy of transforming children’s lives for years to come. Get in touch with our Fundraising Team to find out how you can leave a legacy gift.

9. Make the most of university…

Are you a student who’s looking to get more out of their university experience, or do you know someone who is? We are about to start looking for our Student Ambassadors for 2017/18 who will have the opportunity to lead a team of students on a once-in-a-lifetime expedition to climb Mt Kilimanjaro or trek to Everest Base Camp. They will also take part in our Accredited Ambassador Programme, walking away with an NLP Diploma at the end of the year. Interested? We thought you would be – get in touch with our student team now.
