Universities & Students

The experience of a lifetime, your uni transforming the lives of children

We work with students and RAGs from across the country through our university programme, to create life-changing experiences like climbing Mount Toubkal or cycling from  London to Paris.

Thanks to our student and RAG supporters, each year our Uni programme raises hundreds of thousands of pounds that enables us to support vulnerable children around the world. Here's what we're doing with universities this year:

Mount Toubkal

This tough but incredibly rewarding challenge combines the unforgettable scenery of the High Atlas Mountains with the richness and colour of Marrakech. Our challenge sees us climbing and scrambling over the huge boulders and rocks of northern Africa’s tallest peak – Jebel Toubkal, standing at a whopping 4,167m! Although not technically climbing, the weather and terrain make this challenge extremely tough and a good level of fitness is essential. We finish in the vibrant city of Marrakech, where the southern tribesmen and Berber villagers bring their goods to the souks.

London 2 Paris Cycle

This long-weekend challenge links two great European cities, London and Paris covering about 400km in just three days. Heading south to Portsmouth we cross the channel and continue through the sleepy Normandy villages to the urban surroundings of Paris where we finish at the city’s most famous landmark, the Eiffel Tower. Day four is free for you to explore the sights of Paris before taking the Eurostar back to London.

Dash to Dubrovnik

The Dash to Dubrovnik is the ultimate student road trip. Cover 2000 miles, 12 countries, in just 7 days!  Convoy and party through Europe’s coolest destinations, with a group of mates in a £500 car. A true Top Gear inspired adventure, whilst raising money for a great cause. A trip that looks just as good on your Instagram as it does on your CV.

A Tandem skydive is the most popular of all skydives. It requires only 30 minutes of training before you then jump strapped to your instructor. Enjoy the exhilarating feeling of flying through the clouds from over 10,000 feet at up to 120 mph! It is a truly unforgettable experience, and certainly a bucket list item!!!

Run 4 Charity

It’s never too late to join one of these great events. There are so many different options to choose from, just follow the Run for Charity link here and you can sign up today!

Why not challenge yourself this year to something like the ASICS London 10K, or the Brighton or Manchester marathon…?  Get fit, raise awareness & vital funds for Hope for Children, and achieve an incredible challenge.

“Working with Hope for Children is a dream. They have this uncanny ability to transform students who want to do something, into students who want to do something good, students who want to make a difference, students who want to and probably will, change the world.”

Emma Smith, Activities & Development Manager, Bournemouth University

So how can you get involved...

Apply to be an Ambassador

Our network of Student Ambassadors are the heartbeat of our student programme. Our accredited Ambassador programme ensures that the time and effort you put into leading teams on international expeditions or organising on-campus fundraising events develops key skills that will make you a top graduate.

Become a RAG Partner

For many years now, RAG partners have raised millions of pounds to enable us to support thousands of children across the world. By working in partnership and providing outstanding support, we can help new RAGs to grow or larger RAGs to expand and flourish.

Take part in a Challenge

Every year, hundreds of students take part in challenge events, from climbing Mt Kilimanjaro to trekking through the Himalayas. Taking part in a Hope for Children challenge event is the perfect way to make new friends, have a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and have a transformational impact on children.
